"Flint"

Flint is the first champion at Rod N' Staff. I knew from his birth that he would be a very special dog. He has fulfilled dreams, and given me new dreams to dream. Ranked in the 1995-96 top 25 national conformation Shetland sheepdogs, he was always a ringside favorite, and entertained many with his pranks in the ring. Finally getting down to business, he took numerous group placements, including Group I at the Nashville Kennel Club, and also multiple specialty Bests Of Breed. He was shown during this time by Fred Neilsen and Phil Chandler of Al-Mar Shetland Sheepdogs.

Flint earned his first leg toward the American Herding Breeds Associations Herding Instinct Test. I did not have time to train him further, as I was concentrating on conformation at the time. I denied him a chance at a versitility degree, which was not yet available, by not persuing this training.

Flint was trained to his Companion Dog Obedience title at the ripe old age of 9 years by Anne Morrison, owner and trainer of Flint "kids" Casey and Gabriel. They completed the CD just a couple months shy of Flint's 10 birthday! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
